Standard Vehicle Replacement

If your everyday car has been damaged in a non-fault accident, being left without transport can quickly become inconvenient. Work, appointments, shopping, family commitments and everyday journeys can all become considerably more difficult.

A replacement for your everyday car

Simply Accident Management can arrange an appropriate standard replacement vehicle while your own vehicle is being repaired or your claim is being resolved.

Whether you normally drive a small hatchback, family saloon, estate or similar everyday vehicle, our aim is to provide a replacement that reasonably reflects the type of vehicle you are accustomed to using rather than unnecessarily placing you into something unsuitable.

We also coordinate the wider vehicle claim, including recovery where required, vehicle assessment, repairs and total-loss assistance, giving you one point of contact throughout the process.

Like-for-like, not a downgrade

A replacement vehicle should meet your reasonable everyday requirements.

If you normally rely on a larger family vehicle, luggage space, additional passenger capacity or other practical features, we take those requirements into consideration when arranging temporary transport.

Our vehicle providers have access to a wide fleet of modern vehicles, allowing us to cater for different sizes and classes subject to availability.

Getting you mobile quickly

We understand that the longer you are without transport, the greater the disruption.

Once we have assessed your claim and replacement-vehicle requirements, our team works with the hire provider to arrange delivery as quickly as possible.

Where credit hire or another replacement arrangement is appropriate, the hire provider will normally seek to recover the charges from the at-fault insurer. The contractual terms and any circumstances in which you could become liable will be explained before the vehicle is supplied.
The reasonable hire period depends on the claim. This may include the period your vehicle is unavailable for repair or, in a total-loss case, the reasonable period required to resolve the vehicle settlement and arrange alternative transport.
No. Because we claim against the at-fault driver rather than your own policy, there’s no reason for it to affect your premium or your no-claims discount.
